17 Jul Area Light & Flat Flood Light Mounting Options: Part 1
GKOLED LED Area Lights and Flat Flood Lights are versatile fixtures, capable of providing effective, energy-efficient illumination for a wide variety of settings. To accommodate the different installation requirements of different types of lighting projects, we carry a selection of mounting kits, with your choice of mount included with your fixture. Not sure which mount is right for your project? Below is a comprehensive list of our mounts, as well as their most common uses.
Round/Square Pole Mount
When an Area Light needs to be mounted to the side of a pole at a perfect 90° angle, this mount is the easiest and most straightforward solution. By default, the Pole Mount is intended to be used with square poles, but it also comes with an adaptor plate that enables it to be installed on a round pole. The arm includes a knockout for installing a photocell or motion sensor.
Slipfitter Mount
The most common mount for Area Lights due to its versatility, this mounting option is also available for our Flat Flood Lights. The Slipfitter Mount allows the angle of the fixture to be adjusted from 90° to 180°, enabling precise aiming of the light output. A standard 2 3/8” opening at the bottom of the mount enables the light to be installed on the top of a pole or used in conjunction with mounting accessories equipped with a 2 3/8” tenon.
Trunnion Mount
Available for our Tier 1 250W and 300W Flat Flood Lights, this convenient mount easily attaches to a flat surface and enables precise aiming of the fixture to one of several fixed angles.
Wall Mount
Available for our Area Lights and Flat Flood Lights, this mount allows straightforward direct mounting of a fixture using ½” conduit wiring, as well as standard junction box mounting. The arm includes a knockout for installing a photocell or motion sensor.
Yoke Mount
Available for our Flat Flood Lights, this convenient mount easily attaches to a flat surface and enables precise aiming of the fixture to one of several fixed angles.
